ACTIVE START (4-7)

Objectives | Schedule | Locations | Registration Process & Fees

Our ACTIVE START Program is for kids aged 4 - 7* years, who want to learn basic movement, swimming, bike handling and running skills in a playful and fun way.

*3-year-olds will be given an opportunity to try the session:

The trial for the underage kids would be for us to judge their ability to follow instructions and display an intrinsic motivation to participate in most of the activities; their readiness to participate has nothing to do with their physical talent or potential.

Objectives

Aligned with the "Active Start" stage of the Long-Term Athlete Development model

  • Be physically active and play in a fun and exciting atmosphere

  • Learn basic movement skills (e.g., jumping, twisting, throwing and catching, rotation)

  • Develop basic swimming skills (e.g., floating, breathing, water safety; swim technique)

  • Develop bike handling skills (e.g., starting, stopping, balancing, cornering)

  • Develop basic running skills (e.g., coordination; focus on fun/games & physical literacy)

  • Learn basic techniques & strategies for transitions from one discipline to the next

  • Socialize and make new friends - having fun builds a positive association with the sport

From a developmental perspective, there will be a wide gap between

the youngest and oldest kids (4-7 years), so their activities will differ slightly.

Summer Schedule (July-August)
